Justus was born in Ng’ari village, Samburu district in Kenya. He scored the highest in his class on the standardized test given to all secondary school leavers (KCSE).
Justus has always dreamt of becoming a teacher to be able to teach and motivate the people of his community and country. He chose this career because of the low literacy and overall education levels of the people in his community.
“My plan is to improve the low living standards of the people living in my area…” says Justus.
Due to very high rates of school dropout and tremendous decline in performance in the national examinations in both primary and secondary schools in Ng’ari region, Justus chose as his PATHWAYS project to tutor students in the area. With the help from the Samburu Women Enterprise Group, Justus’s project aims to motivate, build confidence, and instill the power of knowledge among the students as well take special care to focus on poorly performing girls in the region.
